Fresh snow covers a statue of Union Gen. Philip Sheridan in the Embassy Row area of Washington, D.C., Saturday, December 19, 2009. A major snow storm that hit the United States East coast dropped more than a foot of snow on Washington D.C. and Oxford, Maryland. Oxford, MD is only 1 hour and 40 minutes east of Washington D.C. This storm will create a white Christmas for many parts of the United States East coast.

Sandaway Waterfront Lodging in Oxford, Maryland had a snow measurement of 14.5 inches on Sunday, December 20, 2009.
