Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge Eagle Festival

 Easter Shore Event - March 10, 2012 - Annual Eagle Festival

 Near Cambridge, MD the Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge 12th Annual Eagle Festival happens Saturday, March 10, 9am-4pm. All Eagle Festival activities are free, including access to the Wildlife Drive.

Scheduled Eagel Festival presentations will include: a peregrine flight demonstration, a live bald eagle program, “The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly” with Maryland DNG, a live “Day vs. Night Predators” program, a live owl presentation, Native American flute music, and a photography wildlife workshop.

“Early birds” to the Eagle Festival at Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge can start twith a bird walk at 8:00am. During the festival, visitors can look for eagles on one of our famous “Eagle Prowls,” or take a bus ride around the Wildlife Drive. There will also be a lot of fun for children and parents at the Eagle Festival. A youth archery range will be open from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm, and kids’ “make-and-take” activities will run from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm while supplies last. Blackwater’s new “Habitat” puppet show will take place at 9:30 am and 3:00 pm and all puppet show attendees will receive a compimentary Albert the Delmarva Fox Squirrel coloring book.

Blackwater Nation Wildlife Refuge’s main Visitor Center is currently closed because renovations, but Eagle Festival programs and activities will take place in large heated tents.
