-

JANUARY 22, 23, 24, 29, 30, 31 - 2010

Easton, Maryland Live Theater.... Join Easton Middle School's Theater Department this January as they bring Mark Twain's classic story to life in this toe-tapping, knee slapping musical production. Directed by Richard A. Vitanovec, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer is written by Ken Ludwig with music and lyrics by Don Schlitz. Set in 1840, the musical features the mischievous escapades of the rascally title character, Tom Sawyer. Follow Tom as he matches wits with his Aunt Polly, convinces his pals that whitewashing a fence is a game, and falls in love with Becky Thatcher, witnesses a murder, and searches for hidden treasure. This fun, action filled show reminds audiences young and old of the importance of imagination and having fun, while learning life's important lessons.

Opening night is Friday, January 22 at 7 p.m. at the Easton High School in Easton, Maryland. Additional show dates include January 23, 29, and 30 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, January 24 and 31 at 3 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased in advance at Crackerjacks in Easton, Little Rascals in Easton, Reesers Pharmacy in St. Michaels, and Easton Middle School. For more information, contact Richard Vitanovec at 443-298-0488, Marci Leach at 410-829-9811, or Luanne Satchell at 410-829-2049.

  1. The Avalon Theater is located at the corner of Harrison and Dover Streets in the heart of historic downtown Easton, Md. Md Rt 50 is the main access to Easton. Look for the intersection of Dover Road and Rt 50. If north bound turn left on Dover Road, if south bound turn right on Dover Road. The second stop light is the intersection of Dover Street and Harrison Street. The Avalon is on your left. Plenty of free parking in the evenings on the street and in a public lot on Harrison Street, next to the Easton Welcome & Resource Center.
