FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Oct 07, 2010 – Easton’s Bartlett Pear Inn, ranked No. 2 restaurant in the entire D.C. area

Easton, MD (September 17, 2010) – No fewer than twelve Talbot County dining spots are listed in the 2011 edition of the famed Zagat guide to Washington, DC and Baltimore restaurants, dominating the Eastern Shore category.

In Easton, Bartlett Pear Inn (American) and the BBQ Joint (BBQ), both new to the guide, offer a delightful diversity in culinary style and ambiance, while Mason’s (American), Out of the Fire (American), and Scossa Restaurant and Lounge (Italian) are enduring favorites. Extra kudos to the first and last on that list – Barlett Pear Inn received the second highest rating in all categories for all of the restaurants rated by the guide, while Scossa took honors in the “Top Food” and the “Top Décor” categories for the Eastern Shore.

Ava’s Pizzeria & Wine Bar (Pizza and more), Bistro St. Michaels (American), Crab Claw (Crab House), and 208 Talbot (American), all popular St. Michael’s dining destinations, also deliver a bountiful range of gustatory styles and settings.

In Oxford, Pope’s Tavern (American) and the Robert Morris Inn (American/Seafood) are the two stand-outs. Both are noted not only for their food, décor, and service, but also for their views, while the Inn also rates a special mention in the Zagat “What’s New” column (“…on the Eastern Shore, the Robert Morris Inn has reopened under new co-owner Mark Salter (ex Sherwood’s Landing)”.

Finally, both the dining room proper and the carry-out and lunch out-buildings at Mitchum’s Steakhouse (Steak) continue to keep Trappe on the culinary map.

The 2011 Zagat guide collects the opinions of 6,484 avid local consumers regarding 1,219 eateries in the Washington, DC and Baltimore areas, synopsizes them, and highlights representative comments. Full surveyor comments are available online at ZAGAT.com.
