Extended Falconry Seasons
Falconry is a permitted means (50 CFR § 20.21) of taking migratory game birds in any State that meets Federal falconry standards in 50 CFR § 21.29. Extended falconry seasons are those dates outside of regular, special, or experimental gun seasons when migratory game birds may be taken by falconry.

During September seasons (e.g. teal, Canada goose) hunters are only allowed to take target species, whether they are using a gun or falcon to take birds. Because non-target migratory game birds species are not legal during these seasons, falconers may be at risk of their falcons taking illegal species if flown during that period.

Season Dates:
Ducks Feb. 1 - Mar. 10
Brant Jan. 30 - Mar. 10
Light Geese Feb. 5 - Feb. 15

Falconry Daily Bag Limit
The falconry daily bag limit is 3 per day (6 in possession). Regular season bag limits do not apply to falconry. Falconry bag limits shall not exceed 3 birds in aggregate for all migratory game birds.
