Battle of St. Michaels Celebration
St. Michaels, MD,
April 5, 2013– Applications are now being accepted for entrants in the
Battle of St. Michaels Celebration parade to be held in St. Michaels on
Saturday, August 10, 2013. The parade
will begin at 10:00 am and is sponsored by the Town of St. Michaels in
conjunction with the Star Spangled 200 state-wide commemoration. Following the parade, and continuing
throughout the weekend, the Town of St. Michaels will host encampments,
lectures, concert music, food and children's activities promoting heritage
tourism and the region's significance in this important historical event.
Beginning at the ballpark across from the Inn at Perry
Cabin, the parade will proceed south on Talbot St. and end at the St. Michaels
High School parking lot. The approximate
duration of the parade will be one hour. The parade will feature bands,
military groups, community groups, re-enactors, classic automobiles, elected
officials and floats with an historic or nautical theme. Prizes will be awarded in three categories:
bands, floats, and groups that best represent the culture and history of the
era. Deadline for submission is June 30,
2013. Space is limited so applications
will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis.

17TH ANNUAL OXFORD DAY - An Eastern Shore Spring Event - April 30, 2011
Oxford, Maryland....On Saturday, April 30th, the historic town of Oxford, MD will celebrate its 17th Annual Oxford Day. Oxford organizations and businesses in town have been working hard to prepare for this all-day family event. So invite your friends and family to visit, put aside the yard work and errands. Just relax, walk around our wonderful town and enjoy all the activities.
The Oxford Day Parade, usually runs from 11:00 AM until noon. Please note that Morris Street will be closed to ALL traffic during this time. Please allow extra time to travel in and out of town all morning and especially during the parade.
A fun and entertaining schedule of events will take place for Oxford Day 2011. Plan to experience Oxford Day with your friends and family. Please check the Oxford Day website for the most current schedule of events.
The Dog Show and Dog Walk give you a chance to let your favorite pooch shine. Food is available around town, provided by several non-profit groups, the Oxford Market and our local restaurants. Fun activities for kids occur throughout the day and in several locations. Watch the schedule as it develops between now and April 30th!

Second Annual Pumpkin Walk
This Saturday October 24 in Oxford, Maryland - The Second Annual Pumpkin Walk parade begins at 2pm - from the Wesleyan Church, located at the corner of South and South Morris Streets, ending in front of the Oxford Community Services Building ( Town Hall ). Refreshments, Costumed humans, young and old, and dogs of all ages, as long as they are friendly!
